| A Few Words on "FALLEN ROSE" |
|
I wrote the song
"Fallen Rose" after I saw Noa Ben-Artzi share
her innermost feelings with the world on the sudden
passing of her grandfather Yizchak Rabin.
The song was initially written for myself only. However, after finding out that I needed to be in Europe, I decided to travel to Israel with the hope of personally meeting Noa. At this point the song became a gift. While in Israel some friends and family heard "Fallen Rose": and felt the song should be played on the radio for all of Israel to hear. After returning home I kept thinking about what my friends and family had said. Within a week I raised enough money to print 1000 CDs. Two week later I was back in Israel closing deal with N.M.C. Records. I have decided to donate all profits from "Fallen Rose" to charity. This project would not be complete for me personally or spiritually had I not made that decision. Though tears were streaming down her cheeks and running into her mouth Noa was able so speak with dignity and strength - a strength that came from the simple beauty of her honesty. Though something died forever inside Noa the night her grandfather died, when she spoke the world witnessed a rare courage not often found in an eighteen year old woman. The way she spoke was a kind of metaphor for the strength of the Jewish people, who for thousands of years have risen up in the face of adversity - always finding the ability to rise again... to "rise again in a fallen rose." --Bobby E.
